Why I do this
I Enjoy sharing information on experiences that can be related to improving project performance.
The picture to the right is me petting a cheetah at Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn, South Africa in November. It still amazes me how every experience in life is filled with surprises and learning. Like their coat is very coarse where I somehow thought it would be soft. Or that cheetahs are in danger of extinction with only 7,100 in the wild. Ranches like Cango promote and fund the conservation of cheetahs and other endangered species by educating the public.
Cheetahs are truly remarkable animals built for performance with a top speed of 112km {70 mph}. In just three strides, cheetahs can reach a speed of 40 mph. But when you compare it to the fastest cars on the planet, that is when you really realize how remarkable this compact sleek cat is. The Enzo Ferrari with it's 6.0 L V-12 engine produces 660 horsepower on a 3,000 pound body and can accelerate to a speed of 64 mph in 3.65 seconds - the cheetah can reach the same speed almost a full second faster! Nature created a speed demon purely for function while Ferrari launched this car in 2002 for a starting price of $650K. I admire both. Someday I hope to drive a Ferrari (for scientific research of course).
